William Robert Jackson, Sr., age 77 of Forest City died Sunday, February 25, 2024.  He was born on February 16, 1947, in Rutherford County and was a son of the late Thomas Wayne Jackson and Marie Dalton Jackson.  He worked for PPG in Shelby and later for Stonecutter Mills Corporation before returning to PPG where he retired. 

He was a devoted father and grandfather that loved spending time with his family.  His hobbies included golfing and going to the flea market.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Freida Jackson, and brothers, John Wayne Jackson, Tommy Jackson, and Ronnie Jackson.

Survivors include his companion, Lois Blair, his son, Robbie Jackson and wife Jennifer of Spindale, his daughter, Lori Jackson Robbins and husband Marty of Cliffside, his brothers, Franklin Jackson, Charlie Jackson and Jerry Jackson, his sister, Martha Jackson Hawkins, his much-loved grandchildren, Maggie Robbins, Abbie Robbins, Emma Bradley, Josh Jackson, and Jake Jackson as well as seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 2 o’clock on Friday, March 1, 2024, in The Padgett and King Chapel with the Reverend Ronnie Robbins officiating.  Interment will follow in the Bostic Baptist Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 o’clock prior to the service at the mortuary.
