Vivian Kay Sigmon, age 70 of Forest City, North Carolina, died Sunday, January 10, 2021 at her home. Vivian was born March 6, 1950 in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Marley and Sarah Kate Sigmon. Vivian taught third grade for 29 years in the Chesnee school system and was later a tutor for Rutherford County Schools. She was an avid lover of animals and worked very closely with the Rutherford County Humane Society. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Forest City and enjoyed attending church service regularly at Missionary Wesleyan Church in Forest City.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Sigmon.
Survivors include her companion Junior Godfrey. The man that loved her dearly. Survivors also include her nephew, James Sigmon of Bostic.
The graveside service will be at 2 o’clock Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at the Cool Spring Cemetery with the Reverend Jason Madison officiating. For the safety of others, the family requests social distancing and face masks and coverings to be worn.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Rutherford County Humane Society, PO Box 998, Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
