Virginia Hudgins Hemphill

Virginia Hudgins Hemphill, 95, of Forest City, NC, died Sunday, January 29, 2023 at her home.  Born in Spindale, NC, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Hudgins and Ola Mae Cole Hudgins and widow of the late Jim Hemphill.  Virginia worked for twenty five years as office manager for Coca Cola Bottling Company in Forest City and later along-side her husband at their business, Vassey & Hemphill Jewelry in Spindale.  She was also a member of First Baptist Church, Forest City, NC.

Survivors include her daughter, Susan Simpson of Forest City, grandchildren, Matt Clement  (Michelle), Ty Clement (Brittany), Brooke Queen (Steven), Zach Simpson and Mary Kathryn Sneed (Jamey); and great grandchildren, Billy Mac Clement, James & Kennedy Clement, Gavin, Sydney and Asher Queen; a nephew, Jim Hemphill (Darlene) and son-in-law, Jim Clement.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Clement and a brother Arthur Hudgins.

Funeral services will be held 2 o'clock Friday, February 3rd in The Padgett & King Chapel with the Reverend Dr. Diane Nelson officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service Friday at Padgett & King.  Interment will be private.
