Vickie Padgett McCombs, age 77 of Bostic died Sunday, July 12, 2026, at her home.  Vickie was born on December 28, 1948 in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Grady Marvin Padgett and Tressie Jolley Padgett.

Vickie was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She retired from the Rutherford County Sheriffs Department serving under Sheriff Damon Huskey, Edgar Searcy, and Dan Good.  She was a dispatcher and 911 Supervisor until her retirement in 1993 due to her health. 

In addition to her parents, Vickie was preceded in death by her twin children, Anthony Christopher McCombs and Angela Candice McCombs.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 60 years, Ronnie McCombs of the home, her son, Ron McCombs and wife Cyndi, her daughter, Rhonda McCombs Hunley and husband Jeff, her grandchildren, Jessica Hunley, Haley & Jarharree Davis, Jacob and Blake Baker, Tyler and Taylor Hunley, Paige and Brandon Burch, Laura and Justin Allman, Gracie McCombs, Ben McCombs, Katilyn and Brandon Odell, and great-grandchildren, Jordan Hunley, Jayden Simmons, Auriella and Ameia Davis, Shai McCombs, Storm and Sydney McCombs, Emerie Ryker, Adaline and Arbor Allman, and Ivy Odell.  

A memorial service will be held at 2 o’clock on Friday, July 17, 2026, in The Padgett and King Chapel with the Reverend Chris Little and Reverend Ad Hopper officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service at the mortuary.  Interment will be private at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery.
