Tracy Gene Chapman

Tracy Gene Chapman, age 50 of Hickory, North Carolina died Thursday, May 25, 2023. Tracy was born on March 27, 1973, in Rutherford County and is the son of Kathy Carpenter Trinks of Rutherfordton and the late Harold Gene Chapman who died in 2021.

He worked for Lake View Transit in Hickory as a transport driver and was a lifelong Baptist. Tracy was always a happy person who loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He will be missed by his family and friends.  

In addition to his mother Kathy, he is survived by his daughters, Victoria James (Kip)  of Rutherfordton, Mia Chapman of West Virginia, his sisters, Jessica Hembree (Christopher Surratt), Katey Curtis (Jason) all of Rutherfordton, his nephew, Alex and niece, Madalynn, his aunts, Jo Ann Maloney (Johnny) of Sunshine , Debbie Chapman of Forest City and uncle, Bing Carpenter of Rutherfordton, as well as his girlfriend, Heather Larsen.   

The family is planning a private memorial service at a later date,
