Tim Brackett Obituary

Leonard Tim Brackett, age 88, died Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Summit Hills in Spartanburg, South Carolina where he was a resident. 

Tim was born July 12, 1935, in Shelby, North Carolina, the son of the late Dwight L Brackett and Edna Blanton Brackett. 

He was a graduate of Piedmont High School in Lawndale, North Carolina, followed by four years in the Army with the 101st Airborne Division, Fort Jackson, South Carolina receiving an honorable discharge.   He then went on to earn a degree in education from Appalachian State Teachers College and a master’s from Temple University in Philadelphia.

Tim taught and advised at the high school level his entire career spending 30 years in Delaware, primarily at Dover High School where he retired.

Tim was a devoted husband to Peggy, who passed away in 2020, father, and grandfather.

Survivors include a son, Tim Brackett, Jr. of Arlington, Virginia, a daughter, Kimberly Brackett Ingle, and husband Don of Forest City, two sisters, Gale Brackett Warlick and Pamela Brackett Boryta of Shelby, North Carolina.  There are also three grandchildren, Andrea Ingle, Austin Ingle, and Blake Brackett Smith.

Services will be private for the immediate family.
