Daniel Tim Boone, age 74 of Ellenboro, died Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Hospice House in Forest City. Tim was born on January 20, 1950, in Marion, North Carolina and was a son of the late Atus Lenoir Boone and Geneva Byers Boone. He worked as an Industrial Sheet Metal Mechanic for many years, traveling over several states.
Tim was a faithful and active member of Drury Dobbins Baptist Church where he served as an usher. He had a love for music and played in a band in his youth. He enjoyed the restoration of old cars, horseback riding and collecting knives and watches. Following his retirement, he loved spending time at the beach, and he also worked for Rutherford County Solid Waste at the Hollis Recycling Center.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Price Boone who died in 2019, and his brothers, Bobby Boone and Earl Boone.
Survivors include his faithful companion and caregiver, Joy Williams, his daughter, Kim Hefner and husband Chris of Mocksville, NC, his step-daughter, Cindy Spears of Ellenboro, his sister, Pat Hayes of Mocksville, and his half-brother, Dan Boone of High Point. He also cherished his twin grandchildren, Olivia Hefner and Matthew Hefner as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 3 o’clock on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Drury Dobbins Baptist Church with the Reverend Ronald Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7 o’clock on Saturday evening at Padgett and King.
