Thomas Ellis Allen age 82 of Forest City died Thursday, January 7, 2021 in the Atrium Health-Cleveland In Shelby.

Born December 8, 1938 in Mount Rose, Michigan he was the youngest of ten children of the late Lee Henry Allen and Lucille Miller Allen, and was preceded in death by three sisters and six brothers.

He was a 1957 graduate of Mandeville High School in Flint, Michigan and went on to serve his country in the United States Navy from 1957 until 1961 having served on the USS Independence during the Bay of Pigs. He was a gifted carpenter and cabinet maker for over 50 years prior to his retirement.

In addition to his parents and siblings, he was preceded in death by a son, Timmy Allen, his mother-in-law, Connie ‘’Nanny” Balderstone who resided with he and his wife for 47 years, , and his step-mother, Mary Barnum Allen.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Bobette Balderstone Allen; two daughters and a son-in-law, Tammy and Mike Johnson, and Timberly Allen, all of Forest City; three grandchildren, Jolene Johnson, Tommy Johnson and Aurora Gregory, and a great-grandson, Gunner Harris.

Private Family services will be held at a later date.
