Thelma Miller Obituary

Thelma Ruth Thomas Miller, age 85 of Rutherfordton, died Monday, June 1, 2020 at Fairhaven Home in Bostic.  Ruth was born in Watauga County on February 3, 1935 and was a daughter of the late William and Virginia Louise Reece Thomas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Austin Porter Miller.

She was a member of Wilson Baptist Church and was retired from National Textiles.

 

Survivors include her sons, David Miller and wife Lucy of Rutherfordton, Keith Miller and fiancée  Sherry of Mooresboro, Donald Miller and Paul Miller and wife Melody all of Ellenboro, her daughters, Loretta Moore, Leslie Dotson and husband Wayman all of Rutherfordton, and Jeannette Bailey and fiancé Scott of Gettysburg, PA, a sister, Ophelia Hartness of Cleveland, Ohio.  There are 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2 o’clock Friday, June 5, 2020 at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Wayne Toney officiating.  Her body will lie in state from 10 until 1 o’clock Friday in The Padgett and King Chapel for those that wish to view and pay their respects.
