Susie Suggs

Nancy Susan Downey Suggs, of Spindale passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, November 13, 2025, just days before her 76 birthday.  Susie, as she was known to her family and friends, was born on November 16, 1949, in Forest City to the late Herbert and Lois Newton Downey.

A graduate of East Rutherford High School, Class of 1968, she remained a lifelong resident of her beloved community.  Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.   

Nancy is lovingly remembered by her husband of 34 years, David Suggs, her son, Mitchell Suggs (Whitney Munsey) and her three grandchildren, Malachi Suggs, Breyden Suggs, and Kendall Gordon.  She also leaves behind three sisters, Linda Walker, Lois Ann Hasty (Terry), and Teresa Scruggs, as well as nephews Brian Hasty, Christopher Scruggs, Chase Scruggs, and Tim Walker, her nieces, Amanda Hasty and Jennifer Ball.  Nancy also had five great-nieces and four great-nephews who she loved dearly.

The family will gather privately to say their goodbyes.
