Susie Lawson Neal, 72, of Bostic, died Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at her home.  She was born in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late A. L. Lawson and Ivey Sue Reid Lawson.  She worked as a seamstress for many years and was also a homemaker spending many years helping to raise her grandchildren who called her Maw Maw.  Susie was a member of Christian Fellowship Church in Ellenboro.

Survivors include her husband, Timothy V. Neal of the home; son, John Neal of Bostic; daughter, Teresa Marshall (Kyle) of Rutherfordton; brothers, Carl Lawson of Forest City and Larry Lawson of Bostic; sisters, Janice Toney of Forest City and Rita Cash of Harris; grandchildren, James Neal, Megan Neal, Amber Neal, Jessica Neal, Reese Marshall, and Morgan Marshall; and great grandchildren, Brayden Cole, Maverick Williams, Alex Neal, Lilly Neal, Waylon Green, and McKenzie Stephens.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at 3 pm in the Christian Fellowship Church with Rev. Frank Lewis and Rev. Michael Cash officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 pm Sunday at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, P O Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
