Steven Paul Sander, age 33 of Forest City died Tuesday, July 4, 2023.  Steven was born on February 23, 1990, in Lithia Springs, Georgia and worked for Westrock in Forest City.

Steven was devoted to his family, and he loved spending time with them. He had a deep compassion for others.    The beach was his favorite place, and he was happiest when spending time there.    He had attended Fathers Vineyard in Spindale.  

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter and Syble Hames and grandmother, Cheryl Sander.

Survivors include his father, James Sander of Shelby, his mother and step-father, Wanda Hames Dugan and John of Forest City, his grandfather, Paul Sander of Fremont, California, his brothers, Timothy Sander of Forest City, J.P. Dugan of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Christopher Gilbert of Indian Land, South Carolina, his sisters, Che’ Jones of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Sheri Cox of Chesnee, South Carolina.

A Memorial Service will be held at 5 o'clock on Monday, July 10, 2023 in The Padgett and King Chapel with Pastor Terry Howell officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service in the mortuary.
