Stephen Michael Wood

Stephen Michael Wood, age 75 of Bostic, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.  Born February 24, 1944 in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Cordell and Lillian Mode Wood. 

Stephen worked for more than forty years at Hickory Log Barbecue and was a lifelong member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church where he was an active member of the Methodist Men, the Adult 2 Sunday School Class and had served on various church committees over the years.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Sarah Wright Wood, his daughter, Christine Bland and husband Scott of Rutherfordton, his son, Brian Wood and wife Carrie of Ellenboro, his brothers, Ron Wood and wife Patricia of Bostic, and Kevin Wood and wife Debbie of Forest City.  There are also four grandchildren, Justin Bland and Shelby, Taylor Bland and Grace, Riley Wood, and Sidney Wood.  There are also two great-grandsons, Tyler Scoggins and Winston Bland.

The funeral service will be held at 3 o'clock Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church with Reverend Lisa Moore and Reverend Ron Setzer officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Tuesday evening at Padgett and King Mortuary.
