Shirley Ann (Watson) Peal

Shirley Ann Watson Peal, age 66 of Rutherfordton died Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.  Shirley was born August 10, 1952 in Floyd County, Georgia and was a daughter of the late John Henry Watson and Mattie Lou Watson Sims.

The biggest part of Shirley's life was being a dedicated Navy wife.  She was a member of the Belview Baptist Church in Pensacola, Florida and before becoming disabled was diligently working to attain her R. N. degree.

She was preceded in death by her sisters Gladys Couch and Doris Howard.

Shirley is survived by her son Brian Gilreath and wife Nikki of Rutherfordton, daughter Stacey Vincent and husband Barry of Pensacola, Florida, brother James Watson of Rome Georgia, sister Jeanette Smith of Rome, Georgia, grandchildren Brie Gilreath Silguero and husband Danny of Newnan, Georgia, Morgan Gilreath of Charlotte, North Carolina, Taylor Barnes of Pensacola, Florida and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the Padgett & King Chapel on Wednesday, September 19th at 4pm with Dr. Keith Stephenson officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service at the mortuary from 5 until 7pm.
