Kenneth Scott Merck, age 52 of Ellenboro, died Monday, March 10, 2025, at Hospice House in Forest City.  Scott was born on August 18, 1972, in Rutherford County and was a son of Billie Fincannon Merck and the late Kenneth Clyde (Buddy) Merck. 

Scott worked for several years in pallet manufacturing and sales.  He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and a graduate of East Rutherford High School, and he refereed basketball games from an early age.  He had also enjoyed playing in church league softball.  Scott loved his children and grandchildren dearly.

Survivors include his mother, Billie Fincannon Merck of Ellenboro, his son, Jordan Scott Merck of Ellenboro, his daughters, Madison Terry of Forest City, Taylor Hutchins of Bostic, and Brooklyn Merck of Ellenboro as well as four grandchildren, Cooper Lancaster, Emery Hutchins, Camdyn Lancaster and Armond Hutchins.

A memorial service will be held March 15, 2025 at 1 o’clock Saturday afternoon at Corinth Baptist Church with the Reverend Mike Conner and Reverend Ad Hopper officiating.  Interment will be private for the family.  The family will receive friends on Saturday at the church from 12 noon until the hour of service.
