Ruth Cole Womack

Ruth Cole Womack, age 95 a former resident of Parmer Street, Forest City, died Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Accordius Health in Rutherfordton.  Ruth was born on May 11, 1926, in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Loyd and Mallie Huntley Cole. 

She was a lifelong member of Florence Baptist Church and a graduate of Cool Springs High School in the class of 1944 where she was editor of the annual.  Ruth was a homemaker, a loving wife and mother and the widow of the late Carl T. Womack who died in 1985.  She was also preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Womack Summey and her husband John, a brother, Floyd Amos Cole and her sister, Ruby Cole Matheny. 

Survivors include her son, Carl Daniel Womack of Rutherfordton, a daughter, June Dale Sims and husband Andy of Forest City.  There are also number of nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 2 o’clock on Monday, June 28, 2021, in The Padgett and King Chapel with the Reverend Mike Elgin officiating.  Interment will follow in the Eternal Hills Memorial Park.  Visitation will be from 1 until 2 o’clock prior to the service.
