Ruth Biggerstaff

Ruth Waters Biggerstaff, age 83 of Forest City died Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at Hospice House in Forest City.  Ruth was born on May 16, 1939, in Sunshine, North Carolina and was a daughter of the late Willie Lee Waters and Mary Parker Waters.  She worked for 39 years at Spring Ford Kitting in Quality Control, and she worked for 11 years in housekeeping at Rutherford Hospital.  She was baptized at Sandy Level Baptist Church and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Buford Biggerstaff.

Survivors include her sons, Ricky Biggerstaff, Danny Biggerstaff, her daughters, Joanne McGuinn and Sandra Street, her brothers, Hubert Waters and Ronnie Waters, and her sisters, Shirley Whitt and Jane Guffey. There are also three grandchildren, Daphne O’Dell, Nicky McGuinn, and Michael Moore as well as five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, September 23, 2022, in The Padgett and King Chapel.  The family will receive friends from 11 until 12 noon prior to the service.
