Rosemary “Tootsie” Tate Bailey age 93, of Forest City died Tuesday, September 1, 2020 in the Accordious Heath Care Center.
Born February 14, 1927 in Rutherford County, North Carolina she was the daughter of the late John Boyd Mahaffee and Alma Marsh Mahaffee. She was graduate of Cliffside High School and had worked at Cone Mills in Cliffside retiring with 37 years of service.
She was a member of the High Shoal Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, D.B. Tate, Jr., her second husband, James Cecil Bailey, a son, Steve Tate and a grandson, Todd Tate.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Phil and Gay Tate of Forest City; a daughter-in-law, Jennifer Tate of Topsail Island, North, Carolina; a sister, Joyce Beason of Gaffney, South Carolina; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon, September 4, 2020 at 3 o’clock at The Padgett and King Chapel with the Reverend Shane Adkins, Reverend Eugene Passmore, and Reverend Billy Bostic officiating. Private Interment will follow in the Cleveland Memorial Park
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Padgett and King Mortuary.
