Ronald Lee Womick, 77, of Rutherfordton passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026. Ronnie was born December 23, 1948, in Cleveland County, NC. He was the son of Earl and Annie Pearl Womick. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Johnny Womick.

Ronnie was an incredible family man, devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose greatest joy was taking care of the people he loved. He found his greatest peace on the golf course, joyfully cheering on his beloved alma mater the Tennessee Volunteers—Go Vols!—and savoring any chance for a fancy dinner out. Ronnie found excitement in planning trips, discovering new places, and creating experiences that turned into lifetime memories. To know him was to know laughter and love.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Bonnie Womick, daughter Morgan Tucker, her husband Lee Tucker and grandson Xander Tucker. He is also survived by his brother Terry Womick and wife Debbie and his niece Staci Roche and family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pat Summitt Foundation (PO Box 31002 Knoxville, TN 37930 or https://patsummitt.org) to continue the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. 

The funeral service will be held at 4 o'clock Friday, March 6, 2026 in The Padgett and King Chapel with the Reverend Scott Butler officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service in the chapel courtyard.
