Ronald Lee Kistler, age 80 of Rutherfordton, North Carolina died Sunday, November 15, 2020 at his home.
Born July 22, 1940 in Charlotte, North Carolina he was the third child and only son of the late David Lee and Mary McManus Kistler.
He was a 1958 graduate of East Mecklenburg High School and went onto graduate from Wingate College. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and later owned and operated the Shamrock Hardware Store in Charlotte for 42 years retiring in 2001.
In Ron’s retirement years, he worked as a Contractor/Project Manager in Residential Construction for 20 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Richardson.
Surviving are his long-time girlfriend, Carolyn Hughes; a daughter, Bettie-Ann Fry; two sisters, Brenda Bouler and Carol Poole and husband, Gene, of Charlotte; one nephew, Craig Poole, three nieces, Leah Callender, Jenny Lijoi and Amy Richardson.
A Family Graveside service will be held at a later date in the Kistler Family Plot at the Evergreen Cemetery in Charlotte, North Carolina.
