Robert Jones (Bobby) Williams

Robert Jones “Bobby” Williams, age 89 of Forest City, died Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Mission Health in Asheville.  Bobby was born July 13,1931 in Rutherford County and was a son of the late Paul Jones Williams and Lucy Freeman Williams. 

He was a longtime member of Florence Baptist Church and retired from the United States Postal Service.  He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. 

Bobby was also preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Lancaster Williams, his daughter, Jean Marlowe, brother, J. B. Williams, and grandson, Robbie Williams.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Williams of the home, a daughter, Suzy Williams Allen and husband Danny of Rutherfordton, a sister, Ann Williams Tate of Morganton as well as a number of grandchildren.

A private funeral service for his immediate family will be held in The Padgett and King Chapel with the Reverend Dr. Bobby Gantt officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Ellenboro.
