Robert Rollins “Bobby” Hill, age 71 of Forest City died Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.  Bobby was born on February 24, 1948 in Rutherford County and was a son of the late Robert Louis Hill and Virginia Blankenship Hill.  He worked for American Greetings in the Assembly Department and was a lifelong Baptist.

Bobby served his country in the United States Army and had two tours of duty in Vietnam. 

Survivors include his wife, Huynh “Trinh” Hill, his sons, Robert Hill and wife Amanda of Rutherfordton, John Hill and wife Erin of Milton, NC , Marc Hill and wife Lauren of Forest City, his daughter, Michelle Hill Elmore and husband Tim of Mooresboro, his brother, Jeff Hill of Boiling Springs, NC,  his sister, Susan H. Logan of Forest City and his grandchildren, Julian, Madilyn, Ethan, Katie, Cheyanne, Rollins, Lexie, Leyton, Henry, Imogen, and Isabel.

The funeral service with military honors will be held at 2 o’clock Monday, February 24, 2020 at Western North Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, North Carolina with Reverend Tim Elmore and Reverend Steven Cooper officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 o’clock Sunday afternoon at The Padgett and King Mortuary.

Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, Rutherford County Chapter No. 25, Post Office Box 149, Forest City, North Carolina 28043.
