Ricky M. Jenkins, 71, of Ellenboro, NC died Friday, May 16, 2025 at his home.  Born in Rutherford County, he is the son of Bobby W. Jenkins and Carolyn Sue Jenkins.  Ricky worked as a control room operator for Duke Energy where he retired.  He was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church, Ellenboro, and was a 1972 graduate of East Rutherford High School where he played football.  Ricky was a wonderful husband and best friend to his wife, Paulette, who called him “Dearie”, father, grandfather and son.  He enjoyed fishing, watching sports and trips to the lake.  Ricky was known for doing all he could to help friends and family without any recognition.

He is survived by his wife of fifty one years, Paulette Murray Jenkins, of the home; a son, Eric Jenkins (Erin) and a daughter, Emily Jenkins (Ricky Bradshaw), all of Ellenboro; a sister, Phyllis Matheny (Steve) of Ellenboro; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Sims, Kelsey Sims, Savana Jenkins, Cole Jenkins and great grandchildren, Ay’lin Sims and Ridge McDowell.

A memorial service will be held at 3:30 pm on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at Oak Grove United Methodist Church with Rev.
