Rebecca Jane “Beckie” Huntley, age 82 of Rutherfordton died Thursday, September 18, 2025.  She was born on September 9, 1943, in Rutherford County and was known as Beckie to her family and friends. 

Beckie was a graduate of Cool Springs High School and Gardner-Webb College.  She worked for the Rutherford County Schools as a Teacher’s Assistant at both Alexander Elementary and then at Forrest W. Hunt Elementary where she retired with more than thirty years’ service.   Beckie loved the children and enjoyed helping in the classroom. 

She was a member of Florence Baptist Church, and she enjoyed her time with the Rutherford Hospital Auxiliary working in the gift shop.  Beckie was also an avid bridge player and she cherished spending time with her bridge group.

Beckie was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Roberson Edwards, and her sister, Gerry Hester.

Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Jesse “Gene” Huntley of the home, her sons, Joseph Richard Randall, Jr. of Gaffney, South Carolina, and Reagan Randall of Cornelius, North Carolina, her grandchildren, Nicholas Randall and Elizabeth Randall Toney, her great-granddaughter, Harper Winn Burnett as well as her niece, Emily Hester Southards.

The funeral service will be held at 3 o’clock on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at The Padgett and King Chapel with the Reverend Daniel Selman officiating.  Interment will follow in the Cool Springs Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45 prior to the service at the mortuary.
