Raymond Carpenter

William Raymond Carpenter, 62, of Ellenboro, died Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at his home.  Born in Rutherford County, he was the son of the late William B. Carpenter and Peggy Morgan Carpenter.  Raymond worked for many years as a licensed building contractor and later worked for Rutherford County Schools in the maintenance department.  He was a member of First Baptist Church, Forest City and also the Old Hickory Gun Club.  Raymond was a former Jaycee and was an avid fan of NASCAR and the East Rutherford Cavaliers. 

Survivors include his wife Kelly England Carpenter of the home; Sisters, Marcia Wilkins of Columbia, SC, Lynn Davis (Tommy) of Forest City, NC and Caroline Wood (Gary) of Bostic, NC; father and mother-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Bobby England of Ellenboro, NC; sister-in-law, Kara Lail (Lee) of Ellenboro, NC and brother-in-law, Kale England of Ellenboro, NC; and nieces and nephews, Pam Garrett (Duane), Butch Wilkins, Jason Davis (Amy), Lee Williams (John), Kryssie Taylor (Brad), Doug Wood (Sabrina), Blake Wood (Emily), Morgan Wood (John) and Lyndsay Luckadoo.

Funeral services will be held at 3 pm Friday, July 2, 2021 at First Baptist Church, Forest City, NC  with Reverend Rob Hefner officiating.  Interment will follow in the Eternal Hills Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:30 to 2:45 in the fellowship hall of the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Pet Center, 861 Piney Ridge Rd, Forest City, NC 28043 or Creekside Wildlife Rescue, 1635 Fallston Rd, Shelby, NC 28150.  The family will be at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Bobby England.
