Ray Edward Matheson, Jr

Ray Edward Matheson, Jr, age 56 died December 26, 2020 in Ansbach, Germany where he was a resident.  Ray was born on January 16, 1964 in Shelby, North Carolina and served in the United States Air Force where attained the rank of Sergeant.  He then continued to work as a civilian military worker. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Edward Matheson, Sr, his paternal grandparents, Anderson and Bonnie Matheson, and B.A. and Esther C. Marshall.  Ray was their first grandchild and was very much loved and spoiled. 

Survivors include his wife, Jovita Silva Matheson who plans to reside in Phoenix, AZ, his three children, Carlos Silva, Arthur Silva both of Phoenix, AZ, and Ray Edward (Eddie) Matheson, III of Hookerton, NC, his mother, Lucille Marshall Matheson of Mooresboro, NC, and sister, Amy M. Harris of Centrala, MO.  There are also eleven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 o’clock on Saturday, March 27, 2021in the Padgett and King Chapel, Forest City with the Reverend Jeff Queen officiating. Military honors will be accorded on the chapel lawn following the service.
