Ora Eugene (Bud) McFalls, age 87 of Kingsport, Tennessee died Thursday, June 26, 2025, at his home.
Bud was born on March 11, 1938, in Asheville, North Carolina and was a son of the late O.D. McFalls and Geneva Jackson McFalls.
He worked as a machinist and as the supervisor of EME Engineering in Tampa, Florida. After 30 years in Tampa, he and his wife Doris moved to the mountains of Western North Carolina and the Village of Chimney Rock where they lived for 23 years. While there, they were active in the community and were the owners and operators of Unique Expressions Gift Shop. The were also faithful member of Chimney Rock Baptist Church where Bud served as a Deacon. He and Doris moved to Kingsport, Tennessee four years ago. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a granddaughter.
He is survived by his wife, best friend and lifelong partner of 70 years, Doris McFalls , along with five daughters, Debbie Wagon (James Wagon) of Rutherfordton, Cindy Dilley (Gary Dilley) of Valrico, Florida, Charlene Lazarto (Victor Lazarto) of Church Hill, Tennessee, Darlene Wimberly (Bob Moore) of Seffner, Florida, and Rhonda Johnson (Matthew Johnson) of Shady Valley, Tennessee. There are also 18 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o’clock on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Chimney Rock Baptist Church with the Reverend Alex Heafner officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 until 11 o’clock prior to the service.
