Nellie T. Condrey, age 89 of Ellenboro died Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Oak Grove Health Care in Rutherfordton.  Nellie was born on August 17, 1933, in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Clemit B. Terry and Jeanette Davidson Terry.  She was one of ten brothers and sisters some of which she helped raise. 

Nellie was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert "Hub" M. Condrey, her son, Ross Condrey, her grandson, Herbert Pritchard, her brothers, Jerry Terry, Dural Terry, C. B. Terry, her sisters, Tillie Props, Maxine Greene, and Brenda Manley, and son-in-law, Bill Taylor.   

For many years she and her husband were owners and operators of Condrey’s Restaurant in Ellenboro.  She was an excellent cook and known for her delicious pies, especially her Chocolate pies.  After Hub’s death in 1987, she continued to operate the restaurant until her retirement. 

Survivors include her daughter, Drema Anne Taylor, brother, Bruce Terry,  sisters, Carolyn Curtis, and Geraldine Gibson, her grandchildren, Brett Pritchard, Aaron Condrey, Claudia Sparks, Brittany Condrey, and great-grandchildren, Taylor Condrey, Ruby Sparks, Sawyer Sparks, and Fallyn Kimbrell.

The funeral service will be held at 2 o’clock on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Corinth Baptist Church with the Reverend Mike Conner and Reverend Ad Hopper officiating.  Interment will follow in the Bostic Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 o’clock prior to the service in the Sanctuary.
