Nancy Jean Wood Hunt, age 77 of Ellenboro died Friday, June 16, 2023.  Nancy was born on January 23, 1946, in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Vernon and Mamie Frazier Wood. 

Nancy was a faithful member of Race Path Baptist Church where she was active in many church activities.  She enjoyed participating in the Race Path Finder’s group as well as preparing and serving meals for bereaved families.  For many years she prepared shoe boxes for Samaritan’s Purse. She had a heart for helping others which gave her great joy.                          

Nancy was a devoted wife, loving mother, and grandmother.  She earned the distinction of being the worlds best Grandmother.  She cherished time spent with her family, cooking, and trips to Myrtle Beach. 

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Bob Hunt of the home, her son, Shane Hunt and wife Allison of Matthews, North Carolina, her daughter, Kim Hunt Davis and husband York of Midlothian, Virginia, her brothers,  James “Bo” Wood of Forest City, Larry Wood of Ellenboro, and Johnny Sisk of Forest City, her sister, Mabel Wood Knight of Ellenboro and five grandchildren which she adored, Hunter Davis, Haley Davis, Jordan Hunt, Taylor Hunt, and Brayden Hunt.

The funeral service will be held at 3 o'clock on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Race Path Baptist Church with the Reverend Randall Cooper and Mr. Craig Ledford officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45 in the Sanctuary prior to the service.
