Nancy Phillips Burns, age 86, of Iron Station, North Carolina, formerly of Rutherfordton, died Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Peak Resources of Cherryville, surrounded by her family. Burns, Jr. Those left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Nina Gettys and husband Mike of Duncan's Creek; Carson Goff and husband Geoff of Iron Station; and Martha Ogburn and husband Dan of Charlotte. Great-Grandchildren Evan, Liam, and Sadie Johnson of New Bern; Landyn, Ryland, and Mayson Johnson of Ellenboro; Dalton Eaker and Lorelai Self of Ellenboro; Kenley Murray of Ellenboro; Zoe Zweier of Charlotte. Nancy is also survived by a special cousin, Carmen Adams of Taylors, South Carolina.
The memorial service will be conducted at 3 o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Duncan's Creek Church, with Reverend Tonya Garrison officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 until 2 o'clock prior to the service at The Padgett & King Mortuary.
