Myra S. Segers, age 62 of Forest City died Wednesday, December 17, 2025.  Myra was born on June 4, 1963, in Spartanburg County and she is the daughter of Mary Alice Watson Shillingburg and the late Franklin Delano Shillingburg.  She was a devoted and loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.

Myra was a member of Trinity Wesleyan Church where her husband Larry is Pastor.  She was active in the church as a Sunday School Teacher, VBS Leader, Children’s Camps, Wedding Director and she enjoyed working and planning holiday programs.  She was a great hostess and loved planning events for family and friends, as well as gardening, landscaping and building. 

Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them, especially her beloved grandchildren.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Randy Shillingburg.

She is survived by her husband, Reverend Larry Segers of the home, her mother, Mary Alice Shillingburg of Duncan, SC, her sons, Adam Segers of Waxhaw, NC, Dustin Segers of Forest City, her daughter, Candace Segers of Forest City, her brothers, Mike Shillingburg of Easley, SC, Dennis Shillingburg of Duncan, SC, her sister, Tena Hendrix of Duncan, SC, and her four wonderful grandchildren, Anna Segers, Jason Segers, Issac Segers and Samuel Segers.

The funeral service will be held at 4 o’clock on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Trinity Wesleyan Church with the Reverend Preston Edmonds officiating.  The family will receive friends in the Sanctuary from 2 until 3:45 prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held privately for the family on Tuesday at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Greer, SC. 

In lieu of flowers, a trust fund is being established for her grandchildren and donations may be made in care of Trinity Wesleyan Church, 291 Harmon Street, Forest City, North Carolina 28043.
