Muriel Huntley Hash Obituary

Edith Muriel Huntley Hash, age 99 of Forest City died Thursday, December 4, 2025, at her home.  Muriel was born on February 19, 1926, in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late William Stanford Huntley and Lalar Roberson Huntley. 


Muriel was a graduate of Harris High School and during World War II she and her identical twin sister, Madge, moved to Washington DC where she worked at the Federal Bureau of Investigation. 


She worked as a design draftsman for Texas Utilities in Dallas, Texas for 17 years.  Muriel was a former resident of Rockville, Maryland and of the Protestant faith. 


She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Lee Hash in 2001, her granddaughter, Alissa Camden Diehl, her siblings, Jean Owens, Frances Cole, Joyce Guffey, Joe Huntley, Judy Crawford, Betty Ruppe and her twin sister, Madge Layton.


Survivors include her children, Lindy Hatfield of Richardson, Texas, and Nancy Diehl of Renton, Washington. There are also three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.


A service from the graveside will be held at 2 o’clock on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.
