Michael Steve Pruett

Michael Steve “Mike” Pruett, 74, of Ellenboro, NC passed away Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Charles George Medical Center, Asheville, from complications of Dementia.  Born in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Amos Ralph Pruett and Dorothy McNeilly Pruett.  He owned and operated Mike’s Auto Sales and Mike’s Auto Transport in Forest City.  He was a member of Casar United Methodist Church and a U S Army veteran serving in the 101st Airborne and infantry division during Vietnam.  Mike enjoyed collecting classic cars, hunting, and trips to the lake and beach.

Survivors include his wife, Paula Grigg Pruett of the home; his son, Robbie Pruett of Ellenboro; his daughter Kimberly Mullinax and husband Frankie of Forest City, NC; grandchildren, Karley Mullinax, Blaine Michael Pruett and Keegan Lee Pruett; his father-in-law, Paul Grigg and wife Mary and his aunt, Mavin Walker of Taylorsville, NC.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, November 7th in the Padgett & King Chapel with Rev. David Hawkins officiating.  Interment will follow in the Casar United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2 pm Tuesday at Padgett & King.  Memorials may be made to Casar UMC, P O Box 190, Casar NC 28020.  Services are under the direction of Padgett & King Mortuary.  Online condolences may be made at www.padgettking.com
