Melinda Brotherston Curtis, age 64 of Dover, Tennessee died Wednesday, August 30, 2023. Mindy, as she was known to her family and friends, was born on June 7, 1959, in Forest City, North Carolina and was a daughter of the late Ernest E. Wood, Jr. and Peggy Lowery Padgett.
She served in the United States Army in the Military Police. Any who knew her came to experience her loving spirit and appreciate her kindness. Mindy freely gave a helping hand and warm embrace to any who needed it. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her husband, Steven Curtis, her sisters, Sammy and Mel, her daughters Miranda, Myra, and Krista, as well as nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, in the Padgett and King Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Dr. Garin Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, Forest City with Military Honors accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 11 until the hour of service at Padgett and King.
