Max Bridges Obituary

 

Johnny Max Bridges, Jr, age 64 of Ellenboro, died Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Carolinas Medical Center. 

Max was born October 21, 1956 in Rutherford County and was a son of the late Reverend Johnny Max Bridges, Sr and Betty Watkins Bridges.  He was the former owner of Bridges Builders and was currently a self-employed truck driver.  He was a faithful member of Corinth Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon, in the Baptist Men’s Group and on various church committees.  He also enjoyed working with the N.C. Baptist Men on the disaster relief teams.  He also worked in the mission field in Brazil in both evangelism and construction, having gone there on six separate occasions. 

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Patterson Bridges of the home, a son, John Walter Bridges and wife Kasey of Greer, South Carolina, a daughter, Ashley Bridges Craig and husband Lewis of Lattimore, his sisters, Susan Guffey of Ellenboro and Wanda B. Overhulser of Bostic.  There are also five grandchildren, Johnathan, Jeremiah, and Jacob Craig, and Addison and Aubrey Bridges.


A graveside service will be held at 3 o’clock Saturday, January 23, 2021 in the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Mike Conner and Reverend David Jendrey officiating.    The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o’clock Friday evening at Padgett and King.
