Mary Jo Kiser

Mary Jo Lynch Kiser, 83, of Cherry Mountain Street, Forest City, NC died Thursday, April 29, 2021 at her home.  She was born in Polk County, NC and was the daughter of the late A W. Lynch and Myrtle Guffey Lynch.  She established Mary Jo’s Hair Salon in 1965 and previously worked at Ron & Eddie’s Restaurant for six years.  Mary Jo was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and a former member of Missionary Methodist Church, Forest City,  where she taught Sunday School in the children’s department for many years and was head of the Prayer Team while a member there.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a number of brothers and sisters.  Friday, April 30th would have been she and her husband Dan’s 61st wedding anniversary.

Survivors include her husband Dan Kiser of the home; a son, Dale Kiser of Forest City, NC; daughters, Sheila Kiser Ingle (Danny) of Forest City, NC and Tina Marie Kiser who resides at Hickory Falls Health & Rehab in Granite Falls, NC; a brother, Henry “Bud” Lynch of Rutherfordton, NC and a sister, Ruth Thompson of Spindale, NC.  Also surviving are grandchildren, Clint Ingle (Stephanie) of Ellenboro, NC, Kristen Ingle Wright (Jeremy) of Morganton, NC, Amanda Kiser and April Kiser, both of Forest City, NC; and great grandchildren, Jonah Ingle, Jayden Kiser, Braxton Kiser, Carter Kiser, A’Mira Kiser, Maddie Wright and Emma Wright.

Funeral services will be held four o’clock Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Liberty Baptist Church with Dr. Mack Tester officiating.  Interment will follow in the Cool Springs Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from three until four o’clock Saturday prior to the service in the church sanctuary.  Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, P O Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
