Mary Gwendolyn Gettys Obituary

Mary Gwendolyn Gettys, age 78 of Bostic, died Friday, May 6, 2022, at her home. Gwen as she was known was born in Rutherford County on February 28, 1944, and was the daughter of the late Howard Doyle White and Ruth Melton White.

Gwen was a member of Sunshine Church and she retired from Tanner Companies after many years ‘service. In her retirement, Gwen worked in healthcare.

Survivors include her brothers, Lawrence White and his wife Martha Jean of Bostic, Gary White and his wife Vickie of New Bern, North Carolina, her caregiver, Pete Frazier of Green Hill, and her niece and nephew.

A service from the graveside will be held at 11 o’clock Monday, May 9, 2022, at Sunshine Church with the Reverend Clyde Lovelace officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 until 6:30 on Sunday evening at The Padgett and King Mortuary.
