Martha Ruff Obituary

Martha Leigh Callahan Ruff, age 80 of Rutherfordton, North Carolina died Saturday, January 18, 2020. She was born on November 22, 1939 in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late June Crayton Callahan and Lucille Guffey Callahan. Martha was a member of Second Baptist Church in Rutherfordton and she was a retired educator in the Rutherford County Schools. Following retirement, Martha entered the field of real estate and became an experienced property broker. She was the owner of Century 21 Realty for a number of years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Callahan.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Ruff, a son, Jeremy Ruff of Rutherfordton, a brother, June Callahan of Forest City, her sisters, Bobbie C. Johnson of Forest City and Jane Bezold of Rutherfordton. There is also one grandchild, Cayden Ruff.

A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced by The Padgett and King Mortuary.
