Martha Davis Hamrick

Martha Davis Hamrick, age 88 of Bostic, North Carolina died Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at her home. Martha was born on October 21, 1933, in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Lake and Pauline Sisk Davis.

Martha was a homemaker and had worked for the Rutherford County Schools as well as co-owner of the former Town & Country Clothing store in Ellenboro. She was a 1952 graduate of Ellenboro High School and a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church where she had served on various committees and was a former member of the Choir and Sunday school teacher.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hamrick and a brother, Don Davis.

Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Hamrick of Forest City, a son, Gary Hamrick and his wife Sharon of Black Mountain, North Carolina, her brother, Kenneth Davis and his wife LaVerne of Belmont, North Carolina, as well as her granddaughters, Sarah Hamrick Mills and her husband, William and their son, Baker of Fort Mill, South Carolina, and Janie Davis Romick and her husband Gannon of Greenville, South. Carolina.

The funeral service will be held at 2 o’clock on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at  Bethel Baptist Church with the Reverend Michael Sepaugh officiating. The interment will be private for her family in the church cemetery.  No formal visitation is planned by the family.
