Martha Callahan Davis, age 97 of Forest City, died Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Fairhaven Home in Bostic. Martha was born in Forest City, North Carolina on November 12, 1923 and was a daughter of the late William R. and Ottice McDaniel Callahan. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Forest City where she has served on various committees and was member of the Love Circle Sunday School Class.
Martha was a graduate of Cool Springs High School in the Class of 1941 and in 1946 she married Thomas F. Davis who preceded her in death in 2000. She was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Debbie Butler Davis and five brothers. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, she worked as the office manager for the J. W. Davis Company for many years.
Survivors include her sons, Jim Davis, Rick Davis and wife Cindy all of Forest City, four grandchildren, Jennifer D. Holland, Tim Davis, Jeff Davis, and Caroline Davis-Bullman, six great-grandchildren and her nieces, Linda Ross, Gail Harrill, and Judy Hincher.
A private graveside service for her immediate family will be in the Cool Springs Cemetery, officiated by Reverend Dr. Garin Hill. Martha will lie in repose at The Padgett and King Mortuary from 11 until 2 o’clock on Tuesday for those that wish to sign the guest registry and pay their respects.
