Marsha Charlene (Kanipe) Byers

Marsha Kanipe Byers, age 67 of Ellenboro, died Monday, June 15, 2020 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.   Marsha was born January 18, 1953 in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Jessie Hoyle Kanipe and Janette Moore Kanipe. 

Marsha was a graduate of East Rutherford High School in the Class of 1973 and worked for Ingles Grocery Store and Broyhill Furniture.  In recent years she was a homemaker and devoted wife.  Her greatest joy was being a mother and caring for her family.  She also loved to watch the birds and her fur babies.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Roberta Lee and Shirley Moore.

Survivors include her husband, Dwight I. Byers of the home, a son, Johnny Byers and wife Kimberly of Ellenboro, her sisters, Clydean Lee and husband Joe of Gaffney, and Stephanie Holland and husband Doug of Forest City, brothers-in-law, Eugene Lee of Ellenboro and Charles Moore of Mill Spring.

The funeral service will be held at 2 o’clock Thursday in The Padgett and King Chapel with Reverend Preston Holland officiating.  Interment will follow in the Concord Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o’clock Wednesday evening at Padgett and King Mortuary.
