Marie Martin Cook age 73 of Ellenboro died Tuesday, January 26, 2021 in the Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Born December 15, 1947 in Rutherford County, North Carolina she was a daughter of the late Howard Taft Martin and Mary Grace Towery Martin. She retired from Kemet Electric as an Inspector in Quality Control and was a member of the Smith Grove Baptist Church and the Church Choir.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Christine Martin Jarrell and an infant brother, Joseph Martin.
Surviving are her husband, John Grayson Cook; a son, Jason Taft Hughes of Forest City; a daughter, Donna Michelle Hughes of Shelby; a grandson, Austin Hughes; a sister, Judy Martin Yelton and husband, Ernest of Forest City; nephews, Mike Jarrell, Larry Jarrell and Scott Jarrell; a special niece, Missy White and husband, Todd of Union Mills.
Graveside services will be held Friday morning, January 29, 2021 at 11:00 o’clock at the Duncan’s Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery with the Reverend Terry White officiating. No formal visitation is planned by the family and masks and social distancing are requested.
