Loreley Fernández Bradley

Loreley Fernández Bradley, age 82 of Rutherfordton died Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at her home. She was born on January 24, 1940, in Havana, Cuba and was a daughter of the late Juan Manuel Fernández and Pura Fernández Marti'. Loreley came to the United States at the age of eighteen with one suitcase and unable to speak English. She overcame those odds by teaching herself to read and speak the English language. Her strong faith in God sustained her throughout her life.

Loreley was a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother. She was a foster mother for more than 20 years and she loved and rescued many animals.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Bradley, her brothers, Marcos, Juan, and Carlos Fernández and her husband, Douglas Bradley, Sr.

Survivors include her sons, Douglas Bradley, Jr, and wife Millie of Rutherfordton, David Bradley and wife Janett of Rutherfordton, her daughters, Barbara Cohen, and Jennifer Bradley both of Rutherfordton, a brother, Nelson Fernández of Florida, and sister, Gladys Alfonso of Florida. There are thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday evening from 6-8 at the home of her son, Douglas Bradley, 878 Oak Springs Road, Rutherfordton, NC.  Graveside services will be private for the immediate family only.
