Linda Freeman Roper, age 65 of Hollis Road, Ellenboro, died Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills. Linda was born on June 4, 1956, in Rutherford County and was the daughter of the late R. P. and Ruth Sparks Freeman. Growing up in Ellenboro, she was raised in the Bethel Baptist Church. She had worked as a CNA for many years until joining her husband where they became a team driving trucks for Turner Trucking for eight years. Linda was preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Freeman.
Survivors include her husband of 23 years, Rick Roper of the home, her sons, Tony Powell and wife Catherine, Timmy Powell, and wife Lisa all of Ellenboro, her stepdaughter, Jessica Roper, and husband Vinnie Reiman of Casar, North Carolina as her grandchildren, Camryn, Chase, and Mason Powell, and step-grandson, Flay Reiman.
The funeral service will be held at 3 o’clock Sunday, August 22, 2021, in The Padgett and King Chapel. Visitation will be from 1:30 until 3 o’clock prior to the service at the mortuary. The family will hold private interment at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
