Lillian Robbins Robertson, age 100, of Caroleen, died Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Fair Haven Home of Bostic. Lillian was born April 22, 1917 in Rutherford County and was the daughter of James Madison and Mary Allie Branch Robbins. Lillian worked for many years and retired from Cone Mills Haynes Plant.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years Courtland Robertson. Also preceding in death were sisters Mary Sue Hawkins, Muriel Arrowood, Lucille Byers, Pauline Dill, and brothers Charles Robbins and J.D. Robbins.
Survivors include her son Michael Robertson and wife Amy; daughter Kathy Hines and husband Terry; sister Reba Lowe; sister Francis Jolley; grandchildren Ashley Robertson Jeter and Brian Clark; Jennifer Biehl; Allison Whitaker and husband Adam; Lukas Hines; great grandchildren Brayden Jeter and Christian Clark. Other survivors include many nieces and nephews.
Lillian was a member of Caroleen Baptist Church for over 90 years and attended regularly until health did not permit. Lillian will always be remembered for her smile and engaging personality that made everyone around her feel special. She lived her life as the saying she had on her wall and read every day that said “let your light shine”.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Fair Haven Home of Bostic and Hospice of the Carolina Foothills for the excellent care they provided for Lillian over the past couple of years. In addition other thanks go to Brookdale Senior Living where Lillian resided for many years.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Caroleen Baptist Church with the Reverend Allen Hall and Rev. Dr. Bobby Gantt officiating. The family will receive friends after the service in the church Fellowship Hall. Interment will be private for the immediate family at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.
