Larry Chivous Walker, age 74 of Forest City, died Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.  Larry was born on November 8, 1950, in Rutherford County and is the son of Obie Lavender Walker and the late Chivous Elmer Walker. 

Larry was a member of the Forest City Church of the Nazarene for 36 years where he served as church treasurer and recently, he became a member of Corinth Baptist Church where he was raised.  He was a graduate of East Rutherford High School in the Class of 1969, and a gifted woodworker who enjoyed working in his shop.  Larry enjoyed golfing and was a faithful Cowboys and Tarheels fan.  He also loved his faithful dog, Major.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Sarah Graybill and Robert Fournier.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Smith Walker of the home, his mother, Obie Lavender Walker,  his son, Clint Walker (Tammy), his  three daughters, Chivette Fournier (Mark), Sylvia Graybill (Rusty), Michelle Hutchins (James), his sister, Trina Walker Smith (Nelson), 15 grandchildren, Christopher Graybill (Daysi), Matthew Graybill (Stephanie), Victoria Graybill (James), Luke Robbins, Tyler Robbins (Gabby), Michael Robbins, Nicholas Garrett (Kelsey), Jessica Lopez, Brooke Smith (Scott), Josh Fournier (Cori), Kenzie Fournier, Justin Walker, and Alex Walker. There are also 17 great-grandchildren, Brently, Braxton, and Grayson Graybill, Donovan and Valentina Graybill, Hayden, Adalyn, Ansley and Rylan Robbins, Leland and Bonnie Garrett, Alex and Ayden Lopez, Brinley and Preston Smith, Grayson Waters, and Malakai Robinson.

The funeral service will be held at 3 o’clock on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Corinth Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Conner and Reverend Dale Austin officiating.  The family will receive friends in the Sanctuary from 1:30 until 2:45 Saturday prior to the service.  Interment will be private.
