Kimberly Doreen Summey, age 59 of Ellenboro died Sunday, June 28, 2026. Kim, as she was known to her family and friends, was born on April 25, 1967, in Rutherford County and is the daughter of Dorothy Lavender Hendrix and the late Bobby J. Hendrix.
Kim worked in both banking and insurance for many years. She was a member of Wilson Baptist Church and a graduate of East Rutherford High School. God and family were first in her life, and she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and daughter. Always putting others before self, she was generous and kind.
Survivors include her husband, Jeff Summey of the home, her daughter, Ashley Cole of Ellenboro, her mother, Dorothy Lavender Hendrix of Bostic, and her sister, Sharon Gail Hendrix of Forest City.
A memorial service will be held at 1 o’clock on Thursday, July 2, 2026, in The Padgett and King Chapel with the Reverend Curtis McDaniel officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the mortuary.
