Kimberly Baker Bailey, 52, of Rutherfordton, NC, went home to be with her Lord after a long battle with cancer on Monday, September 25, 2023 at her home. Born in Gaston County, she is the daughter of Scottie Woodward Smith of Rutherfordton, NC, and the late Thomas Erwin Baker. Kimberly enjoyed road trips, camping and going to theme parks but what she loved most of all was her family.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her sons, Scott Combs and wife Chelsea of Forest City; David Hicks of Hickory, NC, and Johnathan Bailey of Forest City; two sisters, Elizabeth McCourry and husband Scott of Belmont, NC, and Jennifer Schrader of Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Scott Combs II, Anthony Combs, Zaylyn Combs and Madilin Combs and three nephews and a niece. The family would also like to recognize her special friend Donald Self of Forest City.

No formal services will be held.
