Kenneth Aldridge Obituary

Kenneth Raymond Aldridge age 80 of Bostic, North Carolina died Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

 

Born November 12, 1939 in Rutherford County, North Carolina he was a son of the late Orville Taylor “O.T.” Aldridge, Jr. and Dessie Morehead Aldridge. He was graduate of Cool Springs High School, a veteran of the United States Army, and had worked for PPG Industries for 42 years prior to his retirement. Known to his family and friends as “Sarge” or “Hiem”, he was a faithful member of the Concord Baptist Church having served as a Deacon, sang in the church choir and was also a member of the Foothills Choir. Ken was a member of the Forest City Masonic Lodge #381 AF & AM,  served on the Board of the Concord Community Water System, a member of the Single Action Shooting Society and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting and loved being an outdoorsman.

 

Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Kay Howard Aldridge; a son, Kelly Brian Aldridge and wife Tammy of Rutherfordton; two grandchildren, Blake Aldridge and Breanne Lane; a brother, Phil Aldridge and wife, Kim of Forest City; a sister, Diane Lassiter and husband, J.L. of Rockingham, North Carolina; special friend, Glenn Fite and wife Tammy of Shelby.

 

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 12 o’clock noon at the Concord Baptist Church with the Reverend Travis Laflin and the Reverend John Godfrey officiating.

Masonic Rites will also be conducted at the church.

 

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 8 o’clock at The Padgett & King Mortuary.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rutherford County Senior Center, 193 Callahan-Koone Road, Suite 132, Spindale, North Carolina 28160.
