Kay Vess Roettger, age 70, a resident of Summerville, South Carolina died Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Trident Medical Center in Charleston following a brief illness.
Kay was born on June 11, 1949 in Rutherford County, North Carolina and was a daughter of the late Gudger Guy Vess and Cornelia Burnette Vess of Forest City, North Carolina.
She attended Columbia College in Columbia SC and was a licensed Broker working in Real Estate for many years. Among her professional activities, she was a member of the American Women's Business Association.
Kay also attended Bethany United Methodist Church in Summerville and was very active in the Friendship Circle Sunday School Class where she had many wonderful friends.
Survivors include her husband, James Michael "Jim" Roettger of the home, her step-son, Jeff Raimer and wife Dawn of Grapevine, Texas, sister, Betty Vess Cash and husband John of Felton, Delaware and their children, Megan and Matthew Cash. step-grandchildren, Emily and Zach Hall.
A service from the graveside will be held at two o'clock Sunday, October 20, 2019 at Montford Cove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 4920 Cove Road, Union Mills, North Carolina. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
